Pinot Noir

Bedrock is the term given to the “bed” or bottom of a soil series – the last horizon buried beneath years of geological weathering. This is where the roots of the vines from Nysa Vineyard reach through millennia of iron- rich volcanic soil to end their journey onto the thick bedrock of basalt. With its dark fruit core and supple mouth feel, our Bedrock Pinot Noir expresses the true heart and soul of Dundee’s volcanic soil.

Nysa Vineyard / Dundee Hills AVA:

_

Nysa Vineyard is located on the eastern side of the Dundee Hills AVA. The vine canopy takes full advantage of an ideal aspect to the sun and its roots reach deep into iron-rich Jory soil – imparting a distinct minerality to the wine. With its dark fruit core and supple mouth feel, our Nysa Pinot Noir expresses the true heart and soul of Dundee’s volcanic soil.

Tasting Notes

_

Dark garnet in color. Hints of black currants and plums mix with cola and spice on the nose. There is a richness on the palate reminiscent of cocoa powder, an array of chewy dark fruits, robust tannins and an enticingly broad finish.
